friday -pt day

Well, today we have PT. I think I overdid it on my sit-ups on Wednesday. My stomach muscles are so sore. Well, I am happy today.  Anyway, I worked out again today, and yesterday. I will be taking two days off to give a chance for my muscles to heal. Muscles are pretty much the only part of the body that gets stronger when they heal. Family day will be in February, I am so excited. It will be about 1 week before we go wheels up. (depart to Kuwait.)  Well, got to go.

Well, yesterday we had our Physical Fitness Test. I did pretty good. I am working out everyday with a person that is a coach on the outside. I am building up my muscle mass.  My muscles are so sore. But that means that the muscles are building up. so anyway, I am taking a crewleader class this week, which means I might be in charge of a building project. I am studying for the advancement exam, and if I pass, I will make my rank permanent. I will then qualify to take the E-6 exam next February. That would be cool. Become an petty officer 1st class, and then maybe a chief after that. Chiefs in the navy are pretty much like officers. they have major responsibilities. They are also treated like officers, except you don't salute them. Well, talk to you later.

The Admiral

The Admiral from 1NCD (Naval Construction Division) was visiting us today. It was cool. He answered alot of questions, and said that he wanted to see how NMCB 17 was doing. He is a two star admiral. He went on an inspection around the building. He met and shook everybody's hand that was here. I am going to try to take the advancement exam next month. I am going to try to make my rank permanent.

Well, hello. Today is Monday the 7th of January. Today we are doing PT, and we also get to turn in all the woodland camouflage stuff to supply. I am going to try to get a new battery for my camera, because then I can put pictures here in my blog. I believe we also get to do weapons handling today. Well, have a good day!

MTVR class

Today, I was in a MTVR (medium Tactical vehicle Replacement) class. It was cool. MTVR's are a replacement for the 5-ton and 15-ton truck. they are 6x6 wheel drive vehicles. they can ford 5' of water with no difficulty. they can climb a 60 degree slope. they can drive across a 30 degree incline without tipping. They can also adjust the air pressure in the tires for different kinds of terrain. well, I need to go so I will try to get pictures if i can. see you later.

New Years. Welcome to 2008!

Well, here it is a new year. Now when we write checks, we need to make sure we put 2008 instead of 2007 on them. How was your new years eve? Mine was pretty boring. nothing much happened.  Well, I have come up with a levels of severity chart. You know, like a scale from 1 to 10. 1 being ok, to 10 being the worst. here is my version:
