safe!!

Well, I am safe in Iraq now. The trip was interesting. First we boarded the plane in point Mugu. then we flew down to riverside and picked up some marines. Then it was a 4 hour flight to Bangor, ME. (Stephen Kings Home.) We had a layover of 12 hours, because the rudder on the plane needed to be fixed. After the 12 hour layover we flew 6 hours to Germany. We were there for only 45 minutes. (just long enough to fuel the plane.) Then we flew on to Kuwait international. We were driven 1 hour to camp Morrell, Kuwait. There we stayed for 3 days while we received additional training. After that, we were put onboard a C130 and flown to Iraq. We were packed in like sardines on the C130. It was such a relief to be able to stand up and stretch our legs. Then we arrived at our destination. While I was in Kuwait, I could have sworn that we were in Southern Arizona, if it wasn't for the camels, and the arabic writing on everything. Kuwait is paradise compared to Iraq. Kuwait is richer. No wonder Saddam Hussein invaded it in the 1990's. Anyway, Love all of you!!

Movies

So, here I am, writing in this blog while watching a movieWell, I guess that not much has happened, lately. Here is a funny video to entertain you. It stars the actor who played Biff Tannen in the back to the future series. He is singing about questions he gets asked all the time.

No Perdiem?

I still haven't received my perdiem money, and now I am really upset. I was suppose to get it on the first, but I still haven't got it. I am really mad. I am going to have to find out what happened with the perdiem money.

TFS

Well, we found out where TFS (task force sierra) will be going. It's hush-hush, so I can't say. However I will be stationed on a base as maintenance. We will be doing emergency repair kind of stuff. If a air conditioner goes out, we will just replace it, rather than fix it on the spot.
I am glad that I won't be moving around. I will be at a really nice base.

Talk to you later,
Brett

hungry!

Well, today was the third day of Work Center Supervisor class. It was nice. I don't really feel good, so I didn't pay much attention. Do you what it is like to only eat just a little bit a day? I do, I have been doing it for 2 weeks now, trying to get my last $20 to last until the perdiem check comes. Still haven't got it. It has been a month and a half since our last perdiem. I am now out of money, and it still hasn't come in!!! If those jackasses in the payroll office would get off their freaking butts, and be more consistant with the perdiem, we wouldn't have all this crap. You can't use the government travel card for food, so you have to rely on the perdiem money. I am so mad right now, I am about to go complain to the CO, and tell him what I think about the navy. I want to so bad, to tell him that this is the most f---ed up deployment I have ever seen! Boy, here I am trapped in these damn barracks with all these people, nowhere to go to have private alone time, (unless you're a chief or 1st class of course, they have their own hotel room,) and I can't even get food money! I have to keep borrowing from my friend. I don't like doing that. I am sure glad that my contract is up this year, because I want out!!!!!!!  Anyway, I am sick of this, and when I get back, I will probably go back into the National Guard. At least they had their crap together.

Love you all,
Brett
